We recently released the third book in
The Jack Bell WWII Novels series,
“The War in Venafro.” The book takes place in Naples, 1943, and the 509th
Parachute Infantry Battalion’s time in combat in the mountains above Venafro,
Italy. While his battalion reconstitutes in Naples, Paratrooper Lieutenant Jack
Bell is reunited with his cousin Nadia. The only problem is, she is now the
head of an organized crime family, and she threatens to pull Jack and his
friend Captain “Doc” Allen into her world to stop an American deserter from
taking over. Meanwhile, Staff Sergeant Roland “Rube” Roubideaux and the rest
of Jack’s platoon are preparing for their next combat operation. There’s
friction between the veterans and some of the new men. When the Geronimos leave
Naples to fight in the mountains above Venafro, will they be able to work
together to fight a dreaded German sniper known as the Hunter?
